[Badtings]

This is a great topic. As an art director, one of the things that i absolutely LOVE about this game is the 'look' (and humor... I mean... how can you not love a game that makes it look like you're 'taking a dump' to repair!).

It's obvious a lot of the mech designs are influenced by animals or insects.

Rhinos.. crabs (the heavies) Reapers and scouts (some sort of bird / insect). The 'zerker has a very hornet (egg) thing going.

The tech... looks... well nvrmnd the tech.

I have always called the Berzerker "Bumblebee" - due to the way they just float and hover around all the time (do they ever land_).

The Incinerator would be a Hog (but because I think it's the Harley Davidson of mechs - lumbering around, annoying people with it's big, loud, open pipe guns going "thwap, thwap, thwap, thwap...").

Brawler is a tortoise. Its shoulder things have a sort of layered scale thing going on, like a shell.

Assault is a monkey or ape. Its feet have toes.

I think the Scout is more like a flea.. Vary small fast and annoying xD

Back when you could bypass the raise delay by hopping, my ex watched me play a relatively high-MMR all-Scout DM once and said it looked like I was fighting colorfully-painted ugly mechanical frogs. hestoned has the dubious honor of having the most hideous Scout frog according to her

That was before I stepped my ugly Scout camo game up, though. hestoned's Scout looked relatively aesthetically pleasing the last time I saw it.

Rocketeer is a moose, just like Nept's sig.
Brawler reminds me of a bear, probably because it mauls anybody that gets too friendly.
Infiltrator elephant, just like the camo.
Incinerator looks like peacock when using its ability.
Fred is a creeper. Obviously.

Zerker would be a giant Africanized honey bee, Brawler a Silverback gorilla, Scout a pistol shrimp, Fred a fuzzy bunny erectus, Assault fuzzy bunny sapien, Pred a panther, G2 Assault an octopus... and that's all I got for now. I'll have to think about the rest.

When you first start off in the game, the mechs look weird and quite all the same... until you play more and each chassis begins to give vibes of something. They are like paintings that do not "talk" to you at first but the more time it hangs on your wall the more hidden details and patterns you find on them.

You pretty much nailed it. But zerker is kinda weird, it's like a reversed hornet, seems like its back is on its front XD
