Last night I tried to launch Hawken and was instead greeted by a black screen that I could not alt-tab out of that persisted for over a minute. I went to Task Manager and it said Hawken was not responding. I ended the process and played something else for a while. Now today that black frozen screen is all I get. Tried restarting the launcher, but it did not alleviate the problem.

same thing happens to me. I'm using an HD radeon 4650. If you use ctrl-alt-del you'll get out of the black screen btw.

My problem happened when I tried to adjust the resolutioin. When I applied the change, I was greeted by a black screen. If I crank my volume up I can still hear the subtle indication that the game was infact on as I blindly moved the cursor over the theoretical buttons, and got  a responce sometimes when I clicked randomly.

Is there a hotkey sequence I can use to reach the video settings and change it back so I can finally see the game_

I'm having the same problem. However, I cannot Alt+Tab nor may I Ctrl+Alt+Del to go into my task manager to solve the issue. Simply, my screen goes black, stays black, and I have to restart my computer. I feel that this issue needs to be addressed more than it already has.

This is an archived section of the forums, it is only for CB1 which ended two weeks ago.
