I have no idea how I pulled this off...

Ironically, this was the match right after I decided to stop recording footage, because the one before then was pretty lopsided, so I didn't want to record any more footage of those guys getting murdered.
All in all, when you combine that match and the start of the next one, I think I had a 22-kill streak before biting finally the dust.

What probably helped was mostly just smart play - I know I led them into an ambush once or twice, and obviously given that I was Sharpshooter, I had that first strike capacity. That Sabot Rifle could take off a good 25-30% of their health in that first hit and it makes quite the difference.

Sharpshooters get those scores because nobody targets them

I certainly don't sit on the usual sniper nests for the most part; if I do I'm not doing it for too long.
Some other shots from this match, just to prove it:
That's not to say, of course, some kills weren't snipes - some absolutely were. But I'm more than happy to get up-close and personal. So while that may apply to some Sharpshooters, I can assure you I did not sit in a corner all match and wussy my way to glory.

I could probably eventually manage it with a smaller population count, but I'd be fairly opportunistic.
