...But I did.

Ironically, this was the match right after I decided to stop recording footage, because the one before then was pretty lopsided, so I didn't want to record any more footage of those guys getting murdered.

All in all, when you combine that match and the start of the next one, I think I had a 22-kill streak before biting finally the dust.

Not that hard if you play well and there are a bunch of scrubs on the server or your team is good or both. Grats but plenty of people including myself have done this.

Well, I did have some close calls, so at least their top players weren't newbs. There was a couple times I was down to a couple dozen HP.

What probably helped was mostly just smart play - I know I led them into an ambush once or twice, and obviously given that I was Sharpshooter, I had that first strike capacity. That Sabot Rifle could take off a good 25-30% of their health in that first hit and it makes quite the difference.

And thats why i hate sharpshooter. They tend to dominate the leader boards with minimal work.

Not like those Flak and explosives CQC fights
Or the HE/Detonator+FLAK/HEAT+TOW/GL instakills
Or popping EMP on a target and going to town on their health
Those are the epitome of skill :P

You have to be in the actual thick of battle to pull those off. A sharshooter can just hang back and point and click people and never die. I have played 5-6 games where the sharpshooter was the leader with maybe 1-2 deaths the whole game.

You can pull off the second two with no damage taken, and I've dueled people by dashing back and forth from behind cover and HEAT blasting them with my health sitting at like.. 19 the entire fight
Sharpshooters get those scores because nobody targets them

Actually, I play my Sharpshooter fairly aggresively. Coming at me with a big, hulking mech isn't going to make me run for cover. Well, if I'm hurt it might, but that's something any mech pilot would do. But if I've got the health, I'll happily dance.

I certainly don't sit on the usual sniper nests for the most part; if I do I'm not doing it for too long.

Some other shots from this match, just to prove it:

That's not to say, of course, some kills weren't snipes - some absolutely were. But I'm more than happy to get up-close and personal. So while that may apply to some Sharpshooters, I can assure you I did not sit in a corner all match and wussy my way to glory.

Trying doing that with a non-sniper class in deathmatch.  Team deathmatch is always so lopsided that it's boring.

That made my day. Which is good, because it's rainy, I'm sick, and I might have a Tropical Storm smacking me in about four days. :)

Well yeah, in Deathmatch anyone who goes no deaths is either cheating or else literally hiding the whole match. I mean, it's kind of impossible if you've got 11 other people gunning after you as opposed to six. :P

I could probably eventually manage it with a smaller population count, but I'd be fairly opportunistic.
