They need to fix this issue. There are a large number of fans that are experiencing the same thing as well.
The game refuses to download the manifest. I'm sure it's a simple fix.

Yes it is a simple fix.  It requires the Pilots to actually stop for a few seconds and READ THE MESSAGES THAT THEY QUOTED!!!

THE CLOSED BETA IS CURRENTLY OFFLINE.
IT IS OFFLINE UNTIL THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF CLOSED BETA 2
UNTIL THEN YOU CANNOT PLAY THE GAME

If you were in closed alpha:
1. Of course you can no longer play the game.
2. uninstall it, then download the Closed Beta.

I'm really confused because they sent me an email today and several others to remind me to download and play since I did not participate during the beta weekend. Is the game offline currently_ Because it's really stupid of them to spam my inbox with reminders and then have the game be down

I agree.  I figured it would be best to go ahead and download the client so I wouldn't have to wait.

What would be the purpose of reminding someone to download it if the client was offline_

Makes no sense.

Indeed, I got the email, remembered I was in the beta, went to install and it was like "lol no."

actually, now that I read through all the posts it makes sense. I think it they could have been a bit clearer about the part that says we will not be able to download the game untill teh servers are opened, but this thread cleared all that up. thanks

Hi all,
You are unable to download the manifest because the game client and servers are not available yet. Servers will be up around 12:00noon pst.
