Was a fun Beta indeed! But guys I wouldn't worry to much about an extension. With only a month and a half away from Open Beta, my guess is there will be another beta event this coming weekend or the next. It's gonna be real soon that's for sure.

I'd wager no more than two, three weeks tops between phases. Between this and Alpha 2 was about 3 weeks. I have a feeling they'll be closer, not wider, so I think we'll get 2-3 more betas.

Then again, if they're convinced they got it mostly nailed to what they want for open public beta, they may only have one more between then and now.

Please post prominent announcements that the BETA IS OFFLINE.

An even better solution to the coming flood of 100 forum posts about 'cannot load manifest' would be to download a manifest that pops up a window saying:

  "Greetings Pilot.  The BETA IS OFFLINE."

I think the manifest is actually just a list of files/versions/etc. to let the client know if it needs to download an update.

First time i tried the game thanks to this closed beta, its awesome, there are a few bumps to iron (posted a couple of bugs and suggestions) but overall the game is really well made and a lot of fun, i love the speed and pace of the game, even though i would like to walk a little faster (i guess its also due to my choice of mech and i can make them faster as i level up).

i liked all the game modes, one suggestion i really liked from pilot Dyson is to give a bonus to the best player of the losing team, its a very good idea that would inherently balance the teams (ppl wouldnt be trying to switch teams to the usual winning pilots or the team with more pilots with good píng)

Count me in on this game, definitely!

Ditto man! There are about 5 ppl that I remember crossing paths with during the beta weekend that were really good and you are definitely one those 5. I can't wait until the next beta event, hopefully I get granted access again, otherwise I don't know how I'll be able to make it until 12/12/12/ !!!!!!!!

Well in my my case I can only say: AWESOME !! ^^ I love it ^^, I didnt had the Alfpa version so started out with this weekends beta and I relay love it ^^

I upgraded my pc already for the next beta run ^^, (new CPU, GPU, Motherboard, 2 ssd's ^^) so lets get some shooting going I would say ^^

Thanks all for this awesome experiance, and I hope to play with all of you next time ^^

Man, i really love this community! everyone seem's truly interested and loving of this game. I too crossed path's with Saer, and i have to give it to him. He's a badass pilot. I can't wait until the next Beta!

Hawken is built on the Unreal Engine 3. UE3 includes a long list of console commands, and that includes the ability to start a local match on a map. When the beta client was first put up for download in advance of the start of the test, the console was at least partially unrestricted, with a large number of UE3 commands being available (inclding god mode). The patch put out in the immediate lead-up to the opening of the beta servers disabled almost everything except stat fps (displays your fps) and essential functions to the game, like the screenshot command.

i remember playing a game or two against you saer as well as a game with elix i think. Good times cant wait for the next beta

It will be available when Closed Beta 2 is announced on the forums.
