I would like to suggest an option to save Key binding files,   it is getting annoying having to search the grid and re-map my keys every time there is a new patch.

Good idea, but may not be technically possible. It depends on how they have the game install set-up

Once we're out of closed beta, this should not be an issue.

Right now the devs are doing a lot of patchwork both in and out of the ini files that requires them to be replaced though.

Save the file yourself then just copy it back.

And how do you save your file_  I don't see the option anywhere in the settings menu.

Your INI files are located in (My) DocumentsMy GamesHawkenHawkenGameConfig

Making a backup is as simple as copying them to another folder.

I would recommend against taking those backups and straight-across replacing the newer INI files, however, unless you're absolutely sure that nothing new has been added, and it's just been reset back to the defaults. Between now and Closed Beta Test 2, ,there could be important changes in the INI that'll cause the game to behave weird or unexpectedly if you were to revert to old INI files.

It does mean, however, that you can do side-by-side editing to easily change back your preferred values. Obviously, this's more annoying than going through the options menu, but some of us have tweaked the INIs to change settings (like turning off image grain or bloom) that currently aren't controllable in the UI.
