Why not allow the player to purchase the mech with just the default primary, while the mech itself is cheaper. Allow them to purchase the Alternate weapon with some more Hawken points (while the total Mech + weapon purchase being roughly the same amount as it currently is). This could let people get a taste of what the chassis has to offer before committing fully to it. If people find they don't like the chassis_ They're only out 5,000 to whatever HP as opposed to the full price.

That's kind of similar to something I suggested in the CBT1 section. Basically, your first mech is sold to you at a rediculous (80-90%) discount in order to give players the ability to quickly move beyond the default newbie mech if they don't like the playstyle (currently Assault).

On the other Side i dont think that the alternate Weapon should cost Points, better make Equipment cost more to balance it out.
(like EMP or the Granade-things)

Things costing more = No. We already earn HawkenPoints at a snails pace. Alright it is better in CBE2, but still my point stands.
From what I've seen though, for the two most popular purchasable mechs (Infiltrator and Sharpshooter) the Alt Primary is the weapon of choice for the majority of pilots.
By not having access to the alt weapon without buying it, you don't get a chance to see how it makes the mech play, and therefore you might end up ditching the mech and grinding HP to buy another mech...
