Right, so with this one I'm just a bit confused on the wording.

It says it increases the walk, run and boost speed. What is run speed_ I would assume that's when you've achieved full standard moving speed. If so this means  that taking +walkspeed optimisations is almost completely pointless because you only walk for a second or two_ I'm quite confused, please explain, thanks.

Any devs that could clear this up would be really nice. I've been trying to learn stuff like what the stats really mean and I have NO idea if there's a difference between walk and run or if it's just weird writing.

The walk speed optimizations definitely affect your fastest ground speed, so I'd guess the fact that the final point mentions walking and running is just confusing syntax. Devs have confirmed that optimizations are going to be looked at in the future, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Walk Speed = Initial movement speed from a full stop.
Run Speed = Maximum non-boosting movement speed.
Boost Speed = Forward boost speed.

The amount of time it takes for a mech to transition from Walk Speed to Run Speed depends on the Chassis:
  • A-Class:
    • Walk Speed: 600 UU/second
    • Run Speed: 850 UU/second
    • Boost Speed: 1800 UU
    • Walk-to-Run Delay: 1.5 seconds
  • B-Class:
    • Walk Speed: 525 UU/second
    • Run Speed: 750 UU/second
    • Boost Speed: 1600 UU
    • Walk-to-Run Delay: 1.8 seconds
  • C-Class:
    • Walk Speed: 450 UU/second
    • Run Speed: 650 UU/second
    • Boost Speed: 1500 UU
    • Walk-to-Run Delay: 2 seconds
If that optimization boosts walking, running, and boosting speed, it sounds like it's a clear speed boost to all speeds.

Pulse is that confirmed_ And if so how was that tested.

Interesting, so if we take the above info then that means the walk speed optimisations change your movespeed for a period that lasts 1.5-2 seconds and is barely ever seen in combat. One could argue that there are times during combat that it could be useful but really, I don't see much use in taking such an optimisation compared to the alternatives.

Also, if a dev is reading this, I assume you guys are already aware but we need more stats available without going into the game files. For example we have optimisations that say "Increasees movespeed by 1.5m/s" - however we don't know the base movespeed for the mechs in m/s so cannot work out if it's a 1% or a 100% increase in MS. Perhaps it says that on the mech stats somewhere, but I haven't seen a m/s base value anywhere in game for the different mech types.

Thanks for the info DarkPulse
