Hi all, I've created a Hawken IRC channel to help build the community, come idle and chat.

You can join the web chat or connect with an IRC client to this:

So, I checked the channel just now and it's totally dead from what I see, didn't see a single person in there. Would be nice to actually have a place for us Hawken fans to chill out and chat on something a little more instant than the forums here. Instead of starting up a random IRC channel somewhere or some stupid little chat room from a site someplace, I wanted to know where you guys would be interested in hanging out. No point in creating a place no one will come, right_

Shotboxes to me are just pure crap. I don't think I've ever seen one that wasn't just a bunch of spam and completely pointless jabber (eg 20 people saying hi, all at different times, none being a response to each other), or one that didn't look totally out of place.

I think something like IRC or the group chat for the Hawken Steam group could work, but not a shoutbox.

Maybe try a different server. I'm always on freenode & know a lot of people use it so another channel on it would be easiest imo.

8 people currently in the IRC channel I posted about, and all of them have acquired Closed Beta Keys too
