Or am I missing something_ Because I think they bounce instead of exploding when they hit an opponent_

AFAIK is there is no weapon in the game that can explode but doesn't upon contacting an enemy.

Silencer, you may be be thinking of the grenade launcher or HE Rounds, which both explode on enemy contact, but bounce on walls and such.

All weapons with explosion radii will detonate on direct impact, or even on a close miss.
Reason as my minor ego, and opposite my desire to be a murderer.

A close miss is still a hit on the mech's hitbox.

Correct, because if an enemy is within the distance, the explosive will... well, explode, and the explosion-trigger radius is much smaller than the actual blast radius.

I was referring to the HE Charge, guys - I do apologize for the confusion.

I threw many at very close range to my opponents and seems to me that they do bounce on them rather than to explode at direct contact. That's my worry..

Perhaps it needs to complet its clink-clonk sequence before exploding_ That might be considered as a bug then.. no_

The HE charge does explode on contact with a mech... Am I missing something here, or has this been changed_

Just loaded up Hawken, went into a DM, picked my assault with the HE charges, found someone to blast, and lobbed a HE right into their face.
Made a lovely boom and gave me the kill without me firing a shot.

If your grenades are not detonating on contact, try to find a reliable way to replicate it, record/screenshot it and file a bug report. All the grenades I've ever thrown with the GL or HE Charges have detonated on contact as they are designed too. If they aren't for you then it's a bug or you don't realize you're actually just missing.

I've gotten explosions from direct HE charges at all ranges from near point blank to "Holy buzzy funny I actually hit him_!"

And yes that particualr unlucky soul was already in a fight with another guy. I finished them both off. =3

I thought he was talking about the EOC cannon. It always bothered me that the rounds only explode when they don't hit an opponent, and only after a few seconds. But if they hit, they just disappear into their body with nary a spark, making the weapon seems even more under-powered than it already is.

"fuzzy bunny" is the forum's word filter for words it doesn't like. Some people (like me) use variations of it without actually needing to type out a bad word, so it isn't always a sign that the poster has a potty mouth.

Best way to test this HE grenade impact thing_ Find a buddy, go join an empty server, test it out. If you don't have a grenade launcher and run out of HEs, let yourself die and then start again on respawn.
