Although I definitely get the blues feel too... I just couldn't make music like that. Orchestral arrangements like "Wings of Icarus" or "Our Last Hope" (by Two Steps from Hell) however, I can do. [through a wonderful sampling instrument known as Kontakt ;) ]

Neuro dnb_ or something that's catchy and boosts the player's fighting spirit like complextro, glitchy, skrillex-like complextro ( he makes more electro than dubstep, read his biography).

oh, I'm quite familiar with Skrillex's style.... and frankly, imo, it's too random [just look at his live performances. Wut_]

Neuro dnb/complextro I'd be down for :)

I'm big on dubstep when I play Hawken, trance and other types of techno don't feel heavy enough. Starcraft 2 has a classic rock sound to it already, so I'd like Hawken to avoid that please.

You've been stalking my Pandora without my knowledge, haven't you, Ace_ Agreed that Celldweller is a good match, though "Last Firstborn" seems more fitting than "Blackstar."

Assault - "Vae Victis" | Brawler - "Dominus" | Sharpshooter - "Memento Mori"

Bruiser - "Non Serviam" | Berserker - "Furia"

Get someone talented and a no name. I think an orchestral score for the game would be perfect as it is background enough not to distract. Its not repetitive, and it just sounds epic. Lucas discovered this in Star Wars with John Williams. If you put something as cool as those movies to dub step of some other repetitive techno it would totally ruin the movie. I feel the same way with Hawken. While these styles of music are fun at first, most people would end up substituting their own sound track in the end resulting in wasted funds on adhesive's part.
There is a young composer active in independent films right now. He specializes in orchestral scores in the vein of John Williams. In fact, he is one of the only currently active film composers who can do orchestral scores. His name is Stephen Main. for samples of his work go to stephenmain.com. also, remember the story trailer_ the ochestral worked
Thats my ten cents.

I'm making some tracks myself... that's what this thread is about. People offering what inspires them when they play Hawken to gauge what I might draw from when creating my own tracks.

True, but I just want to clarify that dubstep is probably one of the least repetitive electronic genres. And there are plenty of live arts much more repetitive than common trance. There can be plenty of emotion in repetition; do not mistake it for a lack of talent.

I'm not hating on dub step or calling it simple I'm just trying to suggest an actually viable source for a sound track that will have mass appeal and make the game as popular as possible. Almost every gamer alive has played a game with an orchestral score. It has mass appeal where as popular opinion on dub step and techno in general is largely negative. I really would hate to see this game lose players because of a soundtrack that didn't appeal to as many people as possible

Ну, "на вкус и цвет товарищей нет", скажем так...
Поделись чем-нибудь своим. :)

И не пиши по русски в англоязычных темах, то бишь почти во всех на форуме.
Это не считается проявлением приличия.
