Get rid of Deathmatch / FFA & introduce multiple team battles

I just don't get the feel for Deathmatch in Hawken. You spawn, you run a bit, you get between two enemies (because the maps are only so big), you explode. It works really well in fast paced games like Quake or Unreal Tournament (I'm a big fan of UT99 to this day), but here it just makes the game... frustrating_
OTOH, I love Hawken's Team Deathmatch. This is where the differences and synergies between different machines and their equipment really shine. This is where voice comms play such a big role. This is where the fun is for me.
So, how about mixing the current TD with DM a bit and introducing MTB - Multiple Team Battles_ Just like in UT99, you could have up to X teams with Y max players per team.
3 teams - 5 players max per team
4 teams - 4 players max per team
5 teams - 3 players max per team
This way, you still would have overwhelming odds against you (10-12-12 players against you and your team), but at least you could make good use of the voice comms, you could come up with a plan, you could cooperate with others. You still have the 15 minute limit and whoever scores most kills, wins. Other game modes for MTBs would also be possible, but would require proper balancing and possibly adding stuff to maps.

ETA for $feature_you_want to be added to Hawken Open Beta: Imminent™
See someone breaking the rules_ Don't reply, just hit Report. I am a player, not staff.

I was about to post the same thing Elix is writing, how about changing the poll for just adding multiple team deathmatch_, just because you dont like deathmatch doesnt mean the rest that do should be deprived of it.
Multiple team deathmatch sounds fun if everything goes perfect, but in reality its less likely to have complete balanced teams, its very possible that it ends being a matter of who takes out the players in the weakest team faster.
Would be fun to try though, maybe a tryout in CBE3_

Teamwork and DM overlapped. Many possibilities on the battlefield and very dynamic strategies/tactics.
I'd say.. go for it!

I do like the idea of multiple teams. Imagine a version of Siege where there's four teams and four energy points, and all the alliance makes and breaks... do you help these guys and in turn expect them to scratch your back_ Do you fuzzy bunny them over_ Or do you pretend you're helping one side and suddenly pounce on the other..._
It'd be so psychological, it makes me giggle. The mind games I could play...!

A coagulated, gloomy thinking in the intelligence, as my major ego.

To me Deathmatch is sorta like playing 1v1 in Starcraft, its really the only way to hone your skills. It definitely makes one more aware of their surroundings, and how to use map geography to your benefit. Although there are times when you are 1v1'ing someone in DM and some random will just come in last minute and pick you both off
I love the intensity and extremely faced paced environment in that game mode, it really keeps my palms sweaty

Deathmatch is a meat grinder. Although the strategic elements of team and objective based play are obviously absent, it's frankly the best place to train pure gameplay mechanics (weapon skills, combat mobility, map awareness, and so on).
I usually warm up with a few rounds of Deathmatch before jumping into the team modes.
But yeah, I'd love to see more game modes.

Bad teams kill my K/D when I'm going all out for an objective and suddenly all my "backup" starts chasing one injured mech.

This 4 way idea sounds so interesting (thats what she said).
Edit:This inspired me of another game mode which I started typing here but then decided I'll make a separate thread later so as not to deviate from this one. Carry on!
