Everytime I put the gif in the profile picture thing and click done, then saves changes it just gives me a blank profile picture. What am I doing wrong?

I'm sorry for the late response to this thread.

I tried this myself, with a 200x200 90KB .GIF - it only displayed a still, non-animated picture when set as avatar.

However when I asked BluetoothBoy, he suggested to downsize it to 125x125.

As you can see, it worked - so thanks to him.

 

Here's what I know:

Current limitations for using a .GIF as avatar:

- File size of 100KB or less

- Maximum 125x125 pixels

 

 

As for how to make a .gif, you can use Photoshop - however not everyone has the money for that. You can pirate it if you're naughty.

Thus, here's another option:

 

A free, online gif-to-picture editor/converter that doesn't decrease quality:

Do not just use some random gif converter/editor.

I'd reccomend gifmaker.me for compiling one from seperate image files.

Reason being that most of them add alot of noise and decrease quality, or even add a watermark to your work.

An increase in noise only adds to file size due to more colors - decreased quality is always bad.

The site I reccomended in this section doesn't add a watermark either, and it's free to use.

If you're used to those bad sites, you'll most likely notice a decrease in file size using this one,

while retaining the quality of the original images.
