Would someone be kind enough to walk me through the steps of developing a mobile game?

So there's this idea I've been working on for some time now, and I think it's ready, conceptually, to start tinkering with in the sense of development.

It's an area I'd like to try my hand at, but frankly haven't been able to make much headway with via google and whatnot.

MLG tips onlee plz.

Indeed.

Translation - Were you thinking of developing this App for Android or Apple? Or both?

I'd prefer to start in Android due to a more accessible market.

Well, I will assume you don't have any experience with android development or programming in general.

So, if you're just doing this for fun, you may very well like using one of these drag-and-drop kind of game builders.
If you're trying to do this for business then, IDK bro ...

Here:

If I'm not mistaken all of those allow for multi-platform publishing.

For designing sprites and stuff, I recommend Gimp 2.0. Great alternative for AI if you're not making super pro stuff.

Elite, you talk about Inkscape. Gimp is bad at vector drawing.

I personally use Adobe Illustrator but I'm not sure if tickle is up for buying the thing or using a pirated version.

I may get cut down for this, but I would suggest Unity. It now supports 2D games natively, is easy to get started with and use, free, and (contrary to popular belief) can be used to create high quality content.

I actually agree with this since I've talked with a newbie game developer who talked about how Unity is a great engine to use.  Not to mention, I've been seeing more games coming out that use it.

I took a game design class a couple quarters ago. Can confirm, very simple and very powerful. Whatever you're trying to do, you can probably do it in Unity.
