I just noticed that primary weapon unlocks were also affected by the 50% off sale and I feel very strongly that the new price (somewhere around 2700 HC) is much more reasonable for new weapons.  The original price was higher then half the mechs that need those unlocks.  It seems very odd to me that my 3k credit reaper needs over 5k to buy a slug rifle.

This became a very large issue for me when I realized I had to choose between a mech or a weapon.  No choice should be that ridiculous.

And while many say it isn`t much of a grind if you play regularly, not all of us got the time for doing so. And if you got 100000000000000etcetc HC, fine, you probably got everything you need too, but think more towards the more "casual" players, who only play when they got time and want to.
