I don't know how I feel about this.

But.. no. no. I do. Yeah. I know how I feel about this.

In all seriousness, space is a thing I like, and the idea of colonizing other planets is a thing I like, and... well. This legitimately has some scientific merit and would be neat to... see.

Please note this post neither displays nor links to adult content, it only discusses it.

Ugh, is it going to be just straight porn? No other more interesting scenes and couplings? What a waste.

Still, with the lack of gravity I believe that the possibilities for different positions can make an interesting screen-play, if they are smart enough to use the potential they got.

For the production price, I'm sure they're angling for the most marketable piece. It'll come, I'm 100% positive.

Apparently if you're a well known porn star you don't have to. Temporarily at least. But in all seriousness again, the porn industry has sort of kind of always been on the front lines of a lot of technology. This neither surprises nor disappoints me.

Nonsense. Reproductive instinct is rightfully the most powerful drive we have. Our bodies and brains reward us with all kinds of hormones for even thinking about it. There's nothing to feel sad about.

Though I suppose it makes me a little sad that women as a sex are less stimulated by visuals than other senses (and so I have to be extra pretty to impress them) and so porn is less appealing to the female sex in a general sense, and from this gap arises some level of tension or even conflict - but I'd bet you the sex industry sells more dildos than flashlights!

While the porn industry is a sad mark in human entertainment for all the bad things happening in it, I feel that as the common man it is not something to think about too much, as most of us got many other worries that affect us a lot more than it, but to outright forget the abuse some of them go through is neither the correct thing to do.

You're quite right that there are many worse things that humanity in general could be doing in space.

But that why I bring up Star Trek. It may very well be a unrealistic dream, but in that future humanity has moved past its obsession with material things, past its base desires being the singular over-arching goals of our lives, past war over race and religion, etc and so on.

Yet people are putting money into creating what we have down here, up there. Sex is a good and amazing thing, but it saddens me that it is the incentive that's convinced people to fight for going into space when so many other avenues of advancement for up there could  and should be supported.

Look, I'm a cynical, realist guy, but sometimes I draw a line and say I'm disappointed we've crossed it. But yes, you're right, I'm glad its not a weapon or some other worse thing, and I'm glad someone wants to go to space like I do, whatever the reason. The world is always shades of grey my friend.

I think this is what we should be focusing on here. First, let's not overlook the fact that out of all the people that have been to space, these are likely to be the first two to have sex in it. Sex isn't the incentive for travelling to space. If you choose to ignore the next few sentences, have some hope in that.

Second, I think that you should have some hope regardless. Let's not forget the fact the as I stated above, the reproductive drive is the single most dominant instinct in almost any animal, period. This means every single creature that reproduces sexually has traits that push it toward that goal, be it purely mechanically, as in plants (dude. plants. even plants reproduce sexually), or be it through more convoluted means: hormones and all the things that follow. I feel as if betting against those odds, betting against sex being a motivator in almost all things, is a null point - and while this might be similar to the argument that one should believe in god simply because the apparent consequences of not believing in god are so dire, and therefore is countered by the notion that belief is not necessarily logical, I still submit the idea that shaking your head every time a human being acts on instincts engraved in their DNA over billions of years is a silly pursuit, and much better to be worked with than fought.

I fully agree sex is the single most driving force behind literally all known life (except mattresses, they prefer something else). However, its not as much that sex is a motivator of which there is no denying, its the fact that this is the porn industry trying to do this, and people I think I are going to buy into it (I can't say they definitely are, will have to wait a little while, but already some have) Sex is sex, I'm not saying that people are wanting to go to space to have sex with each other and that's bad.

I'm saying its disappointing people are putting effort behind sending two OTHER people up to have sex which they can then watch at some later date. As soon as people are being into sent into space be it exploration, coloziniation, or whatever, there is going to be sex in addition. But that's not why these two people will be up there

This is literally why they are asking for money to be up there. So that they can have sex for other people to watch, most likely wanking while doing so.

I have no problem whatsoever with porn, I was quite an avid connoisseur when I was a kid! And I have no problem with people who choose to spend their money on something they'd enjoy, I do the same thing every time I buy a video game or new soccer jersey.

But when I see how the world has failed to mobilize on what is our final frontier, and then something like this pops up, its just sad. Not terrible, not evil, not wrong, just sad. There are so many better things for us to put our time and effort into, but alas this is what pulls people in. As I said, in the end I glad someone at least wants to go to space, whatever the reason. (Pornhub's is to make money. ^^)

There have been initiatives to launch orbital hotels, private flights, and all of that sort of stuff that moves toward the privatization and public use of spaceflight. But those ventures largely failed.

THERE IS ONE INDUSTRY THAT MIGHT ACTUALLY... GET IT UP.

And I'd be happy to see it, regardless of what the company is named.

i dont know if you guys knew this but sex in micro gravity has been thought about at length by the scientific community for a while. from what i can remember from papers and things, having no gravity would make sex very hard if not impossible. you would be very limited on positions because there is a lack of leverage. some people have said it might be too dificult without the aid of straps or brace of some sort. also fluids tend to drift around (you know what fluids im talking about). i dont think pornhub has thought this through very much.  i am pro space sex though.

tl:dr it may be more awkward than fun.

fun fact: in micro gravity, your body cant tell how much urine is in your bladder.
