So there has been a problem that is going on the Asian servers since after Sg and Tokyo servers were moved into a single region.The problem is that players from AN are having mid-high ping /lag issues when playing in AS servers while AS players are suffering from the same thing in AN servers. I've seen AN players in Sg lobbies complaining that they keep matchmaking to the Sg servers no matter how many times they try to matchmake, and they also can't select the server manually from the server list because most of the time the servers are disabled/out of skill range(same goes for As players).

 

So a third server host for the Asian region, typically between Sg and Tokyo would be a really nice feature. Preferably a host in Hong Kong server would do as it lies between Sg and Tokyo, so players from both sides would have balanced ping in the server.Or if three hosts for one region is too much then try taking down one of the host servers 

 

The feature isn't my own request, as most of players from the Asian region would like to have this feature.

Previously I've seen developer ever added server "middle east" in Asia.

But no one playing.

I clearly don't get your point , Middle east didn't had any players because no one or very less play from middle east , Servers and regions are not the same. I'm talking about a new server in Asia and NOT a new region. Read it properly.

I want to choose my own server in a check-box like below

 

So if i live between them, I can check both

 

While if i'm from Singapore (SG), I just checked SG

• If SG only have one game and it is full, i just queue until have enough player to make a 2nd game in SG

p/s:

If i play japan server my ping is around 150-200

While less than 100 if in singapore

but i hope even if developer add one server host in hongkong, they will not take down one of current server (sg/tokyo)
Because not every south east asia player have good connection to play in hongkong server.

Despite the situation of no major updates were placed for over a year, MANY Chinese players had to give up Hawken because the ping issue. 

 

BTW: ADH once had a contract with one Chinese company negotiating to let it publish Hwk in China in 2012, that never happened. 

 

I suggest add Regions when Reloaded are able to place updates (including major ones) consistently. 

 

One more thing: And fix the damn syncing issue!

I'm agree with you Zav,

If we have additional server between Singapore and Tokyo,

player from south asia can meet player from north asia, and ping value should be fairly enough.

 

In singapore I can get ping 60-80, while in Tokyo i get 140-150ping.

So I think in Hongkong, I can get 100-120 ping.

 

Nowadays, impact from locked server in SG (because of MMR restriction).

High MMR player in SG have too wait for a long time to get in a game (in condition, no other high MMR player online)

if they use matchmaking option, they will arranged into Tokyo server (but their ping is very high in Tokyo server)

basically I'm experiencing the same thing you guys are going through, how can we support this Idea?

We really need this server either from hong kong or taiwan. It means a lot to those with unbalanced ping like me :D

Hope this topic will be the cure for us complaining about pings and packet loss!

on a serious note though, If there's any feasible hosting provider in that area, I don't see why RLD shouldn't give it a try.
