Just to make it clear, I play the nief every now and agin only to bring back balance when the other team has it. The nief is to much , and very hard to counter within the game currently. Just my thoughts on the current meta that's being abused by weak players.

I feel like its pay to win. they need to nerf the neif like give it less hp or something.

The nief needs a damage on its seekers as they obliterate enemy mechs from afar and like you said is incredibly difficult to counter. It's nothing like a rocketeer. You just aim in someone's general direction and you've killed them in a few seconds.

Well the game is kinda P2W with some G2 mechs but health reduction wouldn't be needed. 350 HP is small enough.

Since the Nief is free, its not pay to win. Its, have this overpowered at range mech for free for everyone so we can screw the balance for everyone that doesn't have them on their team.

It deals a lot of damage too consistently. You cant go all willy-nilly with lock-on weapons, Reloaded. Nerf its Seekers or give it a new mechnic for lock-ons so its not as easy, please. Better yet, remove its ability and replace it with anything else. Im surprised you didnt rip off the Bruisers ability for it as opposed to the Berserkers..

For a month... Where's the Nief, Where's the Nief?  Screw you guys for not giving me my promised Nief!

Now.... Nerf the Nief! Nerf it, it is simply destroying everything!  Get skilled, stop complaining and do something constructive.

Wow. An attitude like that is why I didnt join your clan. Get skilled? I dont see you in my lobbies and my MMR is high enough that only a handful are available to me every day. Direct yourself out of here please unless you actually have a constructive addition to the thread to maybe sway our opinions.

I am sorry, that was not in my character.  Just a bit miffed at the immediate call to nerf a mech we just got. Instead of figuring a way to defeat it. What are we gonna do keep asking for better mechs and better combos and then immediately call for them to nerf them when they give them to us?

My experience so far with the Nief is yeah it is fast but very very squishy. It typically cannot hold up against sustained fire. It's air compressor takes practice and is a one shot. the short term extra damage doesn't last long so if you can figure the speed of its missiles you can avoid that damage boost. With no air burst or large splash I feel it is a good mech that is not too op. It definitely can be killed.

All of that is true in a 1v1 scenario, I could even expand upon its further weaknesses like its close range lock on consistency (Or lack of) or the fact that boosting under it while it flies is a death sentence to it but look at teamfights; Its the only lock on based mech that doesnt warn you before youre unloaded on, effictively making him a stealthy ranged killer. Not getting a warning isnt so bad but it compounds the fact that if youre in the open at the AA, his very stare zones you into cover or away from any objective. If you dont focus him first, youre going to have a hell of a time trying to fight a team back from an objective. If you do focus him first, you focused an A class first and likely will have Bs and Cs left, you probably wont have the health to deal with that so soon as you wont likely be allowed to pass their front lines to get to the Nief unscathed. His zoning ability is too great. Hey, maybe Im totally wrong but for now, Im feeling the oppression of the Nief in every game and it has flip-flopped the way I play entirely

Edit: One could make the arguement that snipers have a similar effect but they arent guaranteed hits and deserve such a role, a homing launcher with a damage boost is kind of different in my eyes, a bit too much.

You have to buy the Neif for $10 bucks.

It is supposed to be free for all gold members. If it is not you need to report it to both Reloaded, and Microsoft so they can fix it.

For long it wasn't available to Xbox One like it was supposed to. I don't know if it's good or bad thing but now it's there again. I tried one game and it's obviously OP as a whole. (considering: Speed, Agility, firepower, fuel, special ability) But when time goes by and players gain enough experience to unlock G2 versions of rest of the Mechs then overall situation is "less bad" But unlocking G2 takes helluvalot playing so we have to deal with this pain for quite a long time. If i could decide if Nief existed or not i would probably choose no thank you. Would be better experience and better game for all of us if players would just focus on other Mechs and learn to play with them as a team. Not just fragging with this OP one...

Other than that balance of Mechs seems pretty good and I'm really enjoying playing this awesome and different type of shooter!

The nief is a crutch mech with a low skill ceiling and will teach you nothing of the game. Tbh, it hurts the game because it takes away the depth and choices. Its now basically just to fly and press LT+RT. People will get bored of it quickly and going back to a mech that forces you actually work for your kills will be too much for many, making them leave after the immediate gratification.

It can be countered (Bruiser is one example), but it will infuriate and drive away new players interested in the game.

Let us behold how Hawken will deal with the bumpy road this time :turned:

It can be countered, but whenever you see over half the mechs in every match as Neifs then you know something is broken.  Anyone with passing ability playing this game can dominate in Nief. It takes little skill and added nothing to the game. I was hoping for more.

Was this thing not playtested before it was released? There really isn't any way to counter it and if you manage to catch one holding still, you have about .5 seconds to kill it before it spazzes out  and becomes impossible to hit while spamming rockets at you with insane DPS

has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like

IIRC the neif is getting adjusted atm.

The splash on the neif's seekers is huge and the air speed in combination with its enourmous fuel tank give it better performance in the air than the zerker.

Lowering the splash some, cutting it's gas tank down, and taking some of the aim assist down are all good places to start.

The trick to defeating a neif is moving better in cqc and not missing.
