My first impressions of the console version are terrible, having seen what the pc version was like, and how dumbed down customization is in this game... I'm literally losing hope in humanity. It's not just the game, but even the forum is locked to separate the console and pc community. The ignorant PC > console argument has gotten to everyone's heads and segregation is in place. But let me get down to the point.
I'm not posting this to say "Remake this game this way." This is to change the mindset of how to appropriately adjust the games economy, simplify the learning curve, and still have deep, deep customization. I'm going to show the approach i feel should have been taken (as a gamer, a single member of your target audience) and maybe spark the ideal direction to take the game without having to overhaul it entirely (my approach would be an overhaul, you need to figure out what you can do with it so your not wasting man hours fixing this mess)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mechs: All mechs would be purchase-able at 1000HC, and with one or two upgrade costs. in this instance, the G2 would be the first upgrade, at a 1500HC cost. With the purchase of a mech, say for example, the Infiltrator, you get the mechs stats (as is in the game currently), the base internals, and the mech specific ability of cloaking. This would be the first general goal of a player, to get the mech with it's ability that they like. For the remainder of this, we assume the player wanted the infiltrators ability and has bought the mech. Mech mastery can unlock cosmetic choices for the various mech parts that would also be at an HC cost, generally 200HC a piece (to change the mechs entire look, would be 800HC, and it is assumed the 1000HC cost of the mech itself puts in consideration the weapons and items that come standard).
Customization: Weapons will each have their own price, ranging from 250HC to 750HC. The infiltrator will have base weapons that came with it, the EOC repeater and grenade launcher, but may purchase other Type-A Light class weapons to attach to this infiltrator. I wouldn't segregate primary weapons into their own subset, limiting what weapons could be used as a primary and same for the secondary, however to equip the same weapon in the secondary weapon slot, would require purchasing the weapon again. Items are very much the same, getting 2 standard items with the option of purchasing any other items in the game for the mechs use (not class restricted). Internals can be specific to the infiltrator itself (not class), 2 standard, 4 additional at HC costs. Other mechs may copy some of these internals, but they will fit the mechs purpose and playstyle (we don't want super heavy mechs doing mid-air dodges).
Cosmetics: Bland and basic cosmetic skins will be purchase-able by HC. The skins that give a lot more "flair" can be MC only. Decorations can be MC only. Some basic thrusters can be HC, but most MC. repair bots, I wouldn't give a dime for unless i'm donating to be honest.
HC gain: Most matches will be giving 50-75HC. Completing challenges would give bonus HC of 50-250, depending on the challenge. Pilot levels up to 10 give 250HC a piece, totaling in 2500HC. To fully customize a non-starter mech, your looking at 2500 for the G2 version, then at cheapest 3000 with weapons, 3800 after adjusting parts to liking, items should be inherently cheap so 4200 after switching out both items, internals would put up a decent price 300 each so 4800, and with skins (i would make each parts skin have a cost even if same as other parts) at 150 a piece would put up to 5400. With the HC gain, a new mech would take 20 matches at 50HC per, and the upgrade a little big, but most everything else won't take long to grind and have something new, but the key here is there is ALWAYS something new to gain.
About purchases: To keep things going for the players, a small "annoyance" will exist in that every part bought for the infiltrator will not be transferable to another mech even if compatible. But with the system in place, this won't be a big deal, as the grind for weapons, parts, items etc will never feel "hefty". Also, the decision to purchase something, and then finding that purchase was not to the players liking will not weigh heavily on the player. I can certainly say dropping 10000HC on a mech that i end up not liking is going to weigh very heavily on me in the games current state. As for MC, players will pay money onto the game still, with special things such as MC only skins, MC only decorations, Special bundles that give mechs and HC, HC boosters as well. Smite is always coming out with new skins for their gods, put in the same work for your game. Make sure they are special and people will pay for them.

Would like to hear what the rest of the community thinks about this. Again tho, this is not meant to be the specific change that should be made, but more-so the ideal direction the game should go. In short, Don't make the grind for something new so ridiculous, however give plenty of grind to be had. Customization drives that grind, keeps things interesting for the long run. That is the whole goal, and changes to be made to the game should take that approach. As it is now, I may play for a little while, but it's going to be impossible for me to stay with the game with it's lack of customization, and cosmetics behind a pay-wall for a game that just isn't fun enough for me to put my money into it. I can easily wait for the next armored core if need be.
