So, a while back for a job I had at my local university I was required to take a test called the Clifton's Strengthsfinder. Basically for anyone who is unfamiliar with this test: it's a test backed by many years of research that can be used to determine what your top five strengths are. The theory of it operates on the idea that instead of improving on personal weak points, it is far more efficient to focus on areas where you excel in. The strengthsfinder test is used in many team-based jobs and from my experience it has been pretty helpful in building great teams in the workplace by balancing each other's skills for each task.
Recently, my girlfriend took the test as well for another university position she was accepted into. That prompted me to dig up the piece of paper that had my core strengths on it. All five of my strengths are in one "area." I have all my strengths in Relationship building. I have yet to see in my personal experience anyone else in the 20 or so odd people I personally know that took the test that had all their strengths in one area, and I was curious if anyone else here had taken the test and what their results was if they would like to share them.
My top five strengths are:
Empathy
Developer
Harmony
Individualization
Includer
My description of the whole test and its history is pretty bad, as I just went off of the almost one year old memory of the explanation I got back when I first was introduced to this test. You have to pay to take the test, but if you have an employer who is interested they might pay for your test like mine did because they thought it was important. The website has a brief description of each strength but to get the multiple page in-depth descriptions you need to either take the test, or buy the book. It's definitely interesting.
Anyway, I would love to hear what everyone else's top five strengths are!
