Why not remove the panel from cockpit layout
and make it look like a headset (with camera stream)
replace panel indicators with digital icons
since almost all the mechs don't have windows

I'd rather the cockpit look even more analog and junkier than it currently is.

if the console version is any indicator, they're trying to trim down the code and reduce most customization everywhere. nice idea, but will meaning original coding and work that isn't already "lootable" in the present game.
i'd settle for just fixing the krap that's been busted for nearly 3 years (happy 3rd Ascension anniversary).

titanfall i think has screens you want, i wanted that too but they woulda stripped it out to save performance like so much before
they added mechanisms to put bobbleheads in our mechs why cant they let us load client sided static meshes and stick it where ever we want that would be great, or better yet give us a building toolkit like in opensim/second life we can populate our mechs with sculptures made right in the cockpit and there would be no performance hit at all since its client sided
