I'm new to the forums and it says to send a pm, you select messenger by clicking on your profile name. I have do so, but don't see a messenger selection. Am I missing something or can we not send pm's?

Not sure if this has been resolved yet, but I'm posting anyway:

Click on your profile name, and then on Personal Messenger button (located at the bottom of the left menu stack). Once there, you should be able to find a green button called Compose New, located on the upper-right side of the screen. And there you have it. Marvelous!

You need to post 5 times before you can access the messenger.

Sorry that the forums dont explain it. New users are moderated until they get 5 posts then the leash comes off. Off topic etc doesnt count.

It was implemented out of necessity in a time when the forums were rampant with spammers and trolls creating and posting on new accounts.

 Just spam two more posts where ever and you'll be good to go.  You don't have to wait for your posts to show up to send the next one.
