They borked it along time ago when they change the mapping for gamepads, you can fix it by editing HawkenInput.ini
change
Bindings=(Name="GBA_Jump",Command="SmartJump | Axis aUp Speed=1.0 AbsoluteAxis=100 | PrevMech")
to
Bindings=(Name="GBA_Jump",Command="SmartJump | Jump | CarouselJump | Axis aUp Speed=1.0 AbsoluteAxis=100 | PrevMech")
