It would be nice if the primary internal fire button, when emptied, would then also fire the second internal weapon. I sometimes miss the secondary button in combat, and it would be more effective than just having the secondary weapon display move into first place in the HUD. When the primary is emptied, then both primary and secondary weapon button/key would fire the secondary.

I wouldn't want that heavy mechs already have a huge handicap as it is devs already cant do a decent job at mech balancing like the grenadier mech. the new handicap would cause weapons over heat on most heavy mechs and some b class too adless the current way you can manage heat that weapons cause.

It's really hard to push 1 and 2. This is the reason they had to remove the 3rd item.

I use 1 button and switch between them with the scroll wheel. Then again, I still forget about it.

I was being sarcastic but thanks for proving me wrong.

I could have sworn that the "cursor" already moves into a non-empty slot, and that the "R" key - the default 'use item' key - would deploy it. Then again, reaching for a number key to deploy an item that's empty? not to sound like a jerk, but being aware that you've deployed all of an item takes a minimal glance at your hud, or a little bit more combat awareness.
then again, managing heat, fuel, the radar, your health, your position and inventory might be too much to ask...

One thing that is hard to get used to is the sarcastic go-f-yourself tone of some replies.
It was just an idea.
I'm left=handed, I use the numpad, I use + for A and - for B and in the heat of battle I sometimes can't reach with my pinkie up to the minus accurately and in time .

It would be fine as a toggle-able option in settings. Let the user define whether they want this behavior or not. I see no reason to care enough beyond that to blast someone for a reasonable suggestion.
To be serious for a moment this is just a joke

Apparently I overestimated humanities affinity for buttons, I would hardly call that blasting someone.

That's what I was referring to, but your explanation makes more sense.

Hmm. I wonder what's wrong then. My selected item does NOT automatically move to the next when depleted. I have just one button that deploys mapped, and when the first item is gone, I have to switch to the next item to be able to deploy it. I'm happy with it that way myself - I would otherwise be constantly throwing something I didn't mean to... and probably dying as a result.

I don't know why it would be off but check the settings.
And make sure you have mapped to "Use Item" not "Use Item 1" 2 or 3
If it still doesn't work then it's broken.
