So how did this go for the devs? Was the amount of testing successful?
I was there yesterday Sunday, and it was cool. Things were running smoothly except by the end, around 19 UTC, that the "syncing account" screen was starting to take about half a minute to finish, every time.
It was a great test. It exposed some service weaknesses when we crossed 1000 CCU (you can see there were 3 "drops" when the CCU dropped form about 1100 down to 300 or so). The backend team (including Ashfire) is working on sorting out what happened to that part on the new system.
We may need to run another test next week - but so far - this has been a great test run.
Also, it's been great to see the Hawken jump from about 400 CCU up to about 1100 CCU this weekend! Clearly we hope to get it even higher as people spread the word of the game, and we finally take the game out of Beta on Steam after a few more updates and tweaks.
Thanks everyone for the help this weekend!
Also; we took over the game on March 13. Here is a quick comparison between the first Saturday we ran the game, when it reached 586 CCU, and this past weekend when we hit 1,112 CCU:
