Heads up!

The space wizards will be pushing a few changes to the game shortly. For this update we don't need to bring the servers down, though!

  • Sabot Rifle; Overall this should feel a lot closer to the Closed Beta 2 Sabot, and much more consistent of a weapon:
  • Increased Unzoomed Accuracy
  • Decreased Zoom Distance
  • Increased Rate of Fire
  • Slug Rifle; Overall this should feel a lot closer to the Closed Beta 2 Slug, and should feel a lot more consistent:
  • Increased Accuracy
  • Decreased Rate of Fire
  • Increased Damage Slightly
  • Point D Vulcan
  • Reduced Heat Generation
  • SA Hawkins
  • Increased Rate of Fire Slightly
  • Decreased Damage Slightly

Happy Hunting!

Thank you for listening as always, Devs.  Even if it's not the EXACT same as CB2 it'll be nice nonetheless to have it be nearer that feel.  I'll be checking up on it once you guys roll it out.

Still feel like the SS overall is extremely slow compared to its CBE2 counterpart.

You say Sharpshooter in a thread about weapons, do you mean the Sharpshooter's weapons or the mech itself_

sorry let me clarify. Both. Yes the Sabot fires faster. But it is still terrible inaccurate (so is the slug for that matter)

How do I know_

Have been playing with the SS sense the alpha. I know where it came from to what it is now. And compared to alpha/CBE1/CBE2 the CBE3 SS has been nerfed too much. I applaud the recent patch to set things right however I still think a few tweaks are needed.

For starters, SS movement speed feels on par with C-Class.

The Slug and SA Hawkin are terrible inaccurate when not scoped. (and even then its still pretty bad).

I agree with Astrolis, the SS still feels relatively weak but at least the changes are headed in the right direction. I too have played SS since alpha and remember it being a lot more fun to play. I feel like the biggest issue is getting rid of the hitscan, making it nearly impossible to play against any competent class-A mech that knows how to dodge. The hitscan also gave you that awesome feeling of being a "sharp" shooter, letting you actually place a reasonable percentage of shots.

The SS doesn't just feel slower, it IS slower, as per the patch notes:

• Mech movement has been rebalanced: Mech B and Mech C move slightly slower, but all mechs can use thrusters for longer periods of time

I'm assuming it's to try and give mechs a stronger sense of weight.

*Something* still just does NOT feel right playing. While I cannot place it just yet, the game just feels... "blah" this CBE3.

"Mech B and Mech C move slightly slower"

Please explain how C-Class mechs are somehow more capable in movement than B-Class_ If you read my post, you'd observe my comment that the SS seems to move at the same pace if not slower than C-Class.

Played earlier prior to this post, and noticed the massive nerfing to the SS from CBE2 to 3.
Just played a round now after reading this, had a patch (~22MB).
I hope the the patch wasn't this.  It felt slightly better but I think that was just placebo effect.
SA Hawkins is still terribly inaccurate, mech is way to slow (especially combined with low armor).
Whats the point to an inaccurate slow weak SS_  You can't camp, and you can't play fight then flight.
Game just went from amazing to eh, I'm going to bed.

The vulcan numbers in game still appear to be wrong, I think...
Can someone confirm whether or not 100 heat is shutdown_  The vulcan lists a lower heat but seems to be overheating at about the same time, like nothing got fixed.

Most weapons took a nerf in some way, most being higher heat per second.

From what the tooltip implies and what happens in-game, I would assume that you overheat at 100.
