I was in a 3-man deathmatch, so this was something I noticed. Basically I duel-ed a guy, he attempted to flee and repair, I hounded his butt down but he managed to repair a mere fraction before I sealed the deal.

And I only get 20 EXP.

So it turns out repairing kinda resets the EXP you get from kills_ Seems a bit of a bummer, getting cheated out of a good 80EXP or so per kill.

Then i fight him again fresh and lose, and he gets the full amount cause I didn't go repair 10HP, and thus scores higher than me.

Repairing should diminish the EXP gained as they get repaired, but not completely reset it.

From what i understand there is a timer.
If too much time has passed since you damaged him last it will not be taken into consideration when he dies.

Click me! I dare you.

I'd suspect a timer as well. Probably a decently long one. Do you know approximately how much time passed_

I'd suspect something like 10 seconds or so. The devs seem to like their fives and zeros, but five seconds is awfully short.

It took a while. I was a fatty rocketeer chasing down a B-Class. It definitely felt like such a waste of effort hounding him down to death just to get a mere fraction of my points.

On a similar note, I've shot people to near death only to have them fall to their deaths, denying me any point gain.
