Well since you can airburst a TOW (or Grenade Laucher) close enough to yourself to take marginal damage I see no reason why you can't already 3rd person on command. It just takes being able to barely damage yourself in a controlled fashion.

And since you can keep your mecha off radar when you aren't moving on the Y axis...

I would love the ability to power down on command, but only if it kept you in first person.

Definitely a no...as Dark Pulse already mentioned, the community has already strongly rejected the suggestion of a 3rd person mode, this is to close to attaining an exploitable 3rd person view. Even though there are trades off's in this instance, they do not start to balance out the unfair advantage gained by being able to basically wall hack.

Granted you can damage yourself currently so you would then be able to repair at a time of your choosing but it also gives away your position if it was attempted during combat to gain the upper hand and you have to go out of your way to exploit it which I doubt most players would stoop to that exploiting level, unless you give it to them, making it "ok" through the majority using it to combat the minority gaining the advantage (this is the case in DayZ, I would rather play in 1st person but to level the playing field I have to play in 3rd person as everyone else does so they can look around corners, over walls, etc. while remaining hidden).

Cheers,

Gagzila

I strongly disagree with allowing a full health mech to remain in repair mode. The third person perspective is huge. During repair you can hide behind a corner and see if a mech is coming. The only downside is you are immobile for a brief period upon leaving the repair mode. I feel that if a user is able to use the repair mode at full health all this accomplishes is improved camping.
