Should repair mode be accessible at full health_

With the game in its current state we can enter repair mode only when our mech is damaged. By doing so we lose our radar and mobility for a few instances but we gain the ability to look from a 3rd person perspective and obviously repair damage taken previously.
What are your thoughts on the possibility of going into repair mode at full health.
Basically shutting down your mech in order to gain a little extra bit of vision at the cost of mobility and radar.

I really don't like 3rd person because I thought we were sitting in a mech cockpit. If they want to have a fixed view out of the cockpit with the hud off, maybe only the radar on..... just a fixed view in 1st person so we can at least position ourselves to see somewhere, then that'd be cool too. As it is, if they want 3rd person to be helpful in the way it is, then I like your idea Hobo. For now I have to poll "no". I ultimately don't want any 3rd person view that is just some sky cam

Fuzzy bunnies indeed!
On a more serious note-
'repair mode' when at full 'health (AKA 3rd person view): I don't think it should be accessible. 3rd person view seems to be the compromise when repairing for the loss of radar. Having it available otherwise is cheese, IMO.
power down mode: I don't actually see a reason for this, outside of the 3rd person view. If you don't boost or fire, you don't show up on radar, and you don't make any noise when standing still (or, not that I've noticed).

People and I love to see a mech being repaired, recognizing it as a good prey.
But in my opinion, using it for extra vision is not a fair idea.

Also, no, god no, a thousand times no. The increased situational awareness can be, in some ways, too much if you can just drop into it at any time. This is why we argued against third-person, remember_
This is essentially no different except for making you a more stationary target.

Could be bad. Right now, you automatically exit repair mode once fully repaired. Might really hurt new players as the little drone would either continue zapping your mech or would just hover while they mash the repair button (you'd also need to keep a closer eye on your health meter too). Maybe enable a powered down mode as suggested, or a recon mode where you'd essentually simulate a roof mounted camera on the mech, maybe even a wide-angle camera_
A camera that you fire into the sky (defensive extra that you purchase_) to act as an uber-radar and toggle-able bird's-eye view camera could be possible too, but that might cause more trouble as well...

On a more serious note, It is not about permanent 3rd person view.
If we have access to this mechanic when our mech is injured isn't it illogical not to have access to it all the time_ Of course you would gain a great advantage by having 3rd person perspective but you also have severe disadvantages.
I think its a good mechanic that is already implemented in the game that can add extra depth to gameplay. And i was wondering what the community was thinking about this subject.
Thank you all for sharing your opinions, keep them coming.

Thus, like I said, it effectively is third-person, which the community already solidly rejected.
