Implying that television shows are made without forethought or literary quality is a gross exaggeration. What movies have is a bigger budget and more time per installment, not better writing.

You also said that you only read when necessary, but watch movies because they are "well thought out." If you think that movies are more well thought out than good books then you sir are sadly mistaken. Half the good movies out there are based on books of either all text or comic varieties, and even then they usually pale in comparison to the originals.

Only if you watch the shows on the TV. There are plenty of services that allow you to watch shows without commercials. Legal ones even.

There's also a lovely edit button that allows you to avoid double posting. It's a wonderful tool.

So, for those who like the show, the first season is apparently on Netflix now. Caught my wife watching it last night.

Look at your posts, upper right, next to the report and quote buttons.

I use it a bunch because I almost always mess up somewhere, and I never catch my mistakes in the preview screen.

I think it's extremely ridiculous, idiotic, and a waste of time.

I don't understand why/how grown adults can be more interested in it than the population it is targeted for.

Anyway, ponies are alright. I had a clanmate who liked them a lot, he ended up convincing me to give them a shot after I was poking fun at him for months. The show was entertaining and I'll probably watch the third season when it comes out, but I'm not a "brony" by any strech of the imagination. I heard a lot of people who worked on some classic CN cartoons (Dexters Lab, Samurai Jack, PPG, etc.) came together for MLP:FIM, so that might explain why I like'em.
