I personally believe that the Mech thrusters, body parts, etc should be available to buy with HC, and not just Meteor credits.

Cosmetics are how F2P games make money. Take that source of revenue away and you'll find that they start making money with items that effect gameplay. That is something that no-one wants.

I voted no because it is a f2p game and it needs an income to stay alive.

Now do I hope they allow me to convert HC into MP, yes. I figure the ratio will be huge, but I'd still do it.

That's true enough, they do need an income, though I really wish they would remove MC from everything other than the cosmetics, so as to completely avoid P2W. Let everything gameplay related, be only available to game credits.

A converter would be the way to go. So as to not completely shut out the people who don't or can't pay with 'real' money.

I reckon for every 1000 HC you can convert it to 10 MC. There are always going to be those people who would rather spend money than time, so they needn't worry about income. This would at-least give people a chance to buy thing with their earned money.

Inb4 Asian complaining about mutually exclusive options and this being a multiple choice poll.

No on both accounts. I can see a converter being fair but I don't like it. I like my exclusivity.

This seems to be a common misconception.

As far as game effecting things go, such as weapons, mechs, internals, etc, all of them can be 'unlocked' with Hawken Credits alone.

Cosmetic things, such as skins and mech body parts (yes, they are cosmetic and do not affect the gameplay), those cost Meteor Credits.

You have a choice, buy MC and get things without grinding, or grind and get them for free.  Bling costs.  :)

I believe that what they have done with the purchasing of additional mechs and Gear, with the choice of purhcasing with either Hawken credtis or Meteor Credits, should also apply with body parts and asthetics. Furthermore I do agree that there should be a HC to MC convert, only IF the ratio was expectable, for example, 10,000 HC: 100 MC, or 1,000 HC: 10 MC.

How are they going to make money_ It's a F2P, so it makes sense that cosmetics are cash-only.

I see my blunder now, I just thought "Awww yeah! HC to MC! That'd be great!" instead of thinking about how it is a F2P and that they need some way to make money.

My opinion is the same with all f2p games, anything that directly impacts gameplay, new gear, gadgets, wep's, items, heat-sinks, defensive modules etc. etc. should be accessible by the free player, with ingame credits.
And it is, so no debate there i guess.

Anything cosmetic however, should not be.
Since as a paying player you would want something that the others cannot get.

No, but individual items should cost less Meteor Credits. Currently getting  anything more than one piece of strictly visual content is pretty expensive.

I find it interesting that support items cost over 2,000 credits, when you can buy a new mech for 6,000

Seems a bit pricy, maybe making it 1,800, or 2000 flat

I have had some Meteor Points, I'm sure there's threads on this so i'll be short. I buy a game from a shop it's going to be £30. If I like a free game I will put in £30 just to start. Then if stuff comes out that I like I'll do £5 here and there. I unlocked 3 suits when I started with MP then unlocked the rest with HC. Now I am only spending MP on the vanity stuff.

Those offensive, defensive and internal mods make a hell of a difference with the 25 points you can put into your skill tree.

I use Repair Charge and MG Turret, because apparently in EU we turret spam ;) but stay away from EMP as it makes you lazy.

They gotta make money somehow dude!

No and No IMO. Devs gotta make money somehow on the game. Nothing "power" related is exclusive to MC's, in fact, the only exclusive stuff is skins and such, which are cosmetic only, the way a F2P game should be.

Sorry, no on both counts and no to a currency converter.  Cosmetic items are how F2P games make money and it is a risky business model enough as it is.  They've done a great job with this game as far as not gimping free players, not making is P2W, and keeping the prices reasonable ($5 for any mech_  Yeah!  MWO wants to charge you like $20-$30 for some of theirs  ).  So I say they stay the course on all of that.
