Opposite for me. The slow approach makes me ignore it and I end up dodging into it somehow.

Also a couple of times I saw a DET coming, duck behind the corner, get impatient, stick my head out to see why it hasnt hit yet and of course that's when it hits.

I think shield should revert to their previous state, furthermore i do not believe in balancing items so they become a game of rock paper scissors.
