One of my favorite bands Them Crooked Vultures.

Learned later in an article that the devs were considering naming the game Steel Vultures.

Glad they decided to go with Hawken though...much better name.

If anyone here is familiar with Armored Core 4/for Answer, they'll know that Kojima is the miracle energy that gives life to every NEXT.
Also, I hail from Mechaverse, so my callsign simply transferred

Juberberry is an anagram of an email address I used.

At one point someone on my work team saw my personal email address and attempted to poke fun of it by rearranging the letters to say "Juberberry". Unfortunately for him I learned long ago - that when someone tries to mock you with a "nickname" the solution is to just own the fuck out of that nickname and make it belong to you rather than them. It was a very successful strategy and as such I became known as "Juber" among my friends at work and he stopped calling me that. As such the name actually has meaning to me and I use it online quite a bit :)

I've been using my name since 2000, when I started play Counter Strike.
Alex is my name, while SDU is Hong Kong's police version of SWAT. SDU - Special Duties Unit.
Back then I used to like to watch Hong Kong's police movies, especially when it's about the SDU.
So, when I play CS, I just add SDU to the back of my name, hence the Alex SDU.

Since then the name stuck with me, in cyber world, at least.

I really liked the heroic character Harak the Berserk from the RPG Runequest. He was the focus of a 70's board game I used to play called White Bear and Red Moon. I also had two years of Japanese language in college, and since polar bears are my favorite animal, I just tied it all together and I've used this name for many, many other online games over the years.

Shiroi (White) + Kuma (Bear) = Shirokuma

I don't remember the actual origin, but I originally used it for the MechWarrior Pod game that used to be in Chicago at the North Pier (http://en.wikipedia....d_Entertainment).  Played only a couple times back in the early 90's, but it left an impression.  Resurrected it when I saw the exciting Hawken footage hit the net.

A Portuguese poem from the 16th century:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adamastor

"Even as I spoke, an immense shape
Materialised in the night air,
Grotesque and enormous stature
With heavy jowls, and an unkempt beard
Scowling from shrunken, hollow eyes
Its complexion earthy and pale,
Its hair grizzled and matted with clay,
Its mouth coal black, teeth yellow with decay."
— Camões, The Lusiads Canto V.

It's the title of a character in a manga, thought it sounded cool so I decided to use it for this.

It means Sergeant First Class.

I actually prefer using Vaapeli Dahmer (my last name), but it's too long I think.

along time ago when I was but a greenhorn in MMO land, I was rolling my very first toon in WoW. Couldn't think of a name so I hit random and got Warcythe, added the S and been using it ever since.
