Inspired by my recent participation in the BSB tournament a few weeks ago and the "A Windy Day on Illal" thread, I decided to write up my own short story! It is called..."The Tournament".

I may have taken a few liberties with some of the lore surrounding the game, so let this be a warning to any hardcore fans of the Hawken lore. If I don't follow the rules of the Hawken lore universe, I did it not out of disrespect for the material, but for artistic reasons.

Hopefully I caught most of the typos and kept the tense correct. Due to it's length, I decided to place it in GoogleDocs rather than post it here. Let me know what you think, and constructive feedback is appreciated!

Damn... I need to get started back on my fanfiction tonight. I have been holding it off too long. I pretty much scrolled through it but I can see it was nicely written.

Yeah, be sure to finish up that fan fiction you've been working on. You've mentioned it a few times now on the forums. I'd love to see it once it's completed!

Excellently well written, and the realistic reasons for certain features and bugs are great. I wouldn't mind reading more, if you are to continue.

Thanks, I glad you enjoyed it!

I am very strongly considering writing up some more short stories. No sooner had I finished this one, than I got some inspiration for the start of another one. However, this new one, if I do write it up, would be separate from "The Tournament". I meant for "The Tournament" to be its own moment in time (a snapshot, if you will), isolated from other events and stories going on. Of course, I would maintain most of the logic that I used in "The Tournament" (functionality, bug explanations, etc) - at least until the devs make a change that requires me to alter said logic.

I don't mind at all! Anything to help get some more good Hawken stories on this site.

I'm thinking of making a post about the development of a mech to expensive to put on the front lines, or manufacture in high amounts, not sure if people would like it though... (It's also missing a primary weapon)
