Hello, I looked at Hawken way back when in Alpha and was turned away by some of the bugs and the business model at the time. Would it be possible, short of redownloading the game, to learn the business model for the stuff in-game_ Also, do they still have the gold ammo_

Well firstly Hawken does not have gold ammo. Okay so heres a rundown of costs.
All mechs and internals are purchasable by HC the ingame curency. It is also very cheap a new mech costing only 6410 HC i believe which you can make just by casually gaming for a handful of days and the internals are around half that. The only items that are availible for real money are cosmetic items. There is no real pay2win in the game if thats your concern. Thats a brief idea of it im on my phone and dont want to get to long winded, if you have any more questions just ask.

Okay, thanks...I'll download it tonight and see how it goes. I've been playing MWO, but they are getting shakier and shakier.

Cool welcome back to Hawken pilot! Oh and also mechlvl<pilot skill. The perks you earn as you lvl up are really small and will be trumped by pilot skill so if your put up against a bunch of higher level mechs the only advantage they will have is more playtime and experience so dont become disheartened.

I'd also like to add that they are currently working on a horizontal progression system that is mech specific to replace the current optimizations.

That doesn't answer the question of whether or not purchases are permanent.

All purchases are permanent. (except holotaunts and countermeasures, but no one uses those anyways)
