For the xbox fans that were disappointed.
"In a very surprising move, Microsoft today has announced that it will
abandon its Xbox One DRM policies. The updated policy is a “result of feedback from the Xbox community.” The update outlines that any disc game can be played without an online connection. There will be no 24 hour online check in required and games will function just like it did on Xbox 360.
Check out the updated policies below:
• An internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games – After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360.
•
Trade-in, lend, resell, gift, and rent disc based games just like you do today – There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360.
Furthermore, Xbox One games will have no region locks and will be available digitally on day of release. Those digital games will also be able to be played offline just like Xbox 360. Downloaded games can't be shared or resold, and disc games will require the disc in the tray for them to be played."

But i personally think they messed up and the damage is done. People that maybe wanted to pre-order a xbox one pre-ordered
a PS4 or/and they probably lost many existing customers too ...
