Granted they have enough time to learn from their mistakes. Even if you have a bunch of new players playing with themselves, 3 lucky shots will end it which is fine for a FPS but when it is about mechs... like selling a brush (in this case representing FPS), one is a steel the other is horse hair. Steel being Mechs and horse hair being normal pick of the lot FPS. Still a brush but 2 complete different feelings.

I really like the way the game plays now. Every encounter is scary.

Considering the back lash from the Raider patch that gave Hawken the second lowest TTK, I'm not sure how anyone thought an even lower TTK is what people wanted.

I see a lot of people not happy with the TTK, even though the TTK only appeared under specific circumstances. In general, I don't see anyone completely happy. And I definitely don't see anyone seriously saying the TTK should be even lower.

Current Hawken TTK is not 7 seconds. Its about 5 or less. If you get shot by two mechs, its less than 2 seconds. Way too short for the casual players out there who are not willing to put in the dozens of hours a week but are willing to fork out the 5-10 bucks to avoid putting in said dozens of hours get an item.

Its not what people wanted. Its a very bad balance decision and its seeing the backlash. The staff is probably now trying to figure out how to fix it without completely losing credibility.

this thread was created BEFORE the steam patch, when the TTK was around 7 seconds. But I do agree that it is way too short as it stands now.

let me reaffirm you that i, superman, do just ride in and get a 4 kill, kill streak, because everyone can die so fast.

now before, even if i flanked or sneaked up on someone, they'd atleast have time to turn around and then the fight commences, I may have gotten a few shots in, maybe dented or completely ruined their mech, but if they were a good player, they'd still be able to recover.

this although isn't the case now, and i am still surprised people are convinced it takes more skill now to play, when the game as a whole has gotten easier, the reality is, if you are good, you are still good, but you are easier to kill.

No one has gotten better they simply just made you easier.

No amount of "skill" was added, only limitations.

And diving in is more rewarding than it was before, because when you dive in now, you can atleast kill people, before if you dived in, there was no way you'd finish off a single person before their whole team bulldoze you.

So no, this game is leaning into the twitch shooter area where first shots matter, and as long as you keep moving you will survive better than standing around or forming positions, kinda like how in call of duty those guys get kills just running around constantly killing people as they go around sporadically. Yes you can do that now, not before, because you used to run into a guy and it was like a wall you'd have to duke it out with, not just plow through him and move on.
