Ever since I've found out that radars don't work when you're not burning, this is something I do more often than I should with my A-classes, and I'm just wondering if anyone else does this.

Heck, pillars that are an inch wider than my mech have saved my tush more than a couple of times, any class chasing me to get that extra shot enough to finish me off, all I have to do is stop at the nearest pillar, and hide behind it, paying attention to my radar.

And this is it - because they burn to chase me, I can see them on my radar, and I can adjust my angle on the opposite side as they fly past me - and it works every single time, as long as it's not some kind of search party. As far as I'm concerned, to them, I must've fallen of the face of the Earth. Sometimes, they come back the same way again, so I'd have to strafe along the opposite side of what I'm hiding behind. I'm always certain the crunchy sound of my 10 tonnes of steel tenderizing the concrete would've at least given me away. But it didn't, and I'm alive.

Then there's me, sniggering "what a baboon" as they go back from whence they came, repairing my mech nonchalantly as the slapstick scenario replays in my head for the rest of the match. I mean, I'm relatively new, and I'm aware this is not the only game where you can do this, but I'm just wondering, who else has_ As a game mechanic, I'm not sure if this is something the developers had even thought of, but it's proven to work and one of the most satisfyingly hilarious things to successfully execute should you ever have to.

So, who else has done something like this_

Sneaking by walking instead of boosting is something I've been doing for a long time. It's pretty effective for getting the jump on people.

Welcome to the higher player base ...

However I do it EVERY time also for attacking, flanking, ambushing etc.

I don't like to be visible on the radar, I don't like to be visible at all. Sometiems I manage to stay cloaked inside of 6 enemies without beeing noticed.
And then, BOOM, You got (aka golt) alphastriked! it is so fun when it's successful but I hate it when one guy spot me and the whole team will come to chase me. Especially in SIege or MA that is their loss because they are giving up important strategic points to just kill one assassin. They are ruining my fun and pay with their loss. Fair trade (after that I taunt ofcourse with the holo and mech taunt :P )

Back to the topic: Be careful! If you are in the range of the SCANNER you are also spotted when you are walking. To counter the scanner, place a scrambler right next to it, so funny how they boost around without even knowing where to shoot cause of so many red points :D

"Things change ... thank god, otherwise we would still hunt animals to survive and forge weapons of stone."

Most frustrating thing with new players in a team. They boost everywhere all the time, even for just a couple of metres for no apparent reason.

Seriously. I picked up the expending energy = radar signature thing really early, and after playing for only a few weeks I can't tell you how many times my ambush has been given away because the majority of my team boosts around everywhere just because the function is there.

That's a bad habit from other shooters - sprinting everywhere. Took me a while to get rid of it here. In fact i guess i still boost too much.

Even in other shooters with radar I'm quite sure it puts you on radar also.

Running directly to/from sniper fire means you'll die tired. Taking cover gives (Ke-)Sabot time to reload.

It's more of an afterthought, it's at the end where you fight a bot.

They really don't do much in the tutorial. I could teach more in an hour.

This. Can get to like 3 or so opponents looking the other way, under heavy damage, if done right. Though not every time, as jumping in on 5 opponents is never going to end well. :P

Oh, so that's why I caught all those people repairing recently.XD

Nothing better than catch them with their pants down and stick a TOW in their... ehm... main thruster.

Doing it a lot. But instead of waiting when they go away, i'm readying up Bolt+MIRV combo on my Raider. Killing that annoying chaser when you have like 15hp is a delight. As a bonus, most people leave when I pull this trick on them twice.

Best part is when you use this fact to either disappear or sneak as a heavy. Disappearing doesn't always work, but I just love the look of utter shock on an enemy team when the find out that they just got blasted by a (insert name of C class here) from out of nowhere. People just do not expect it. XD

But I hate that dodging appears on radar... No more sneaky crab-walking for me anymore....

I just like to sit. And get my ass shot up from behind as consequence.
