This item is surprisingly underrated, while most people do know to use it when caught in the middle of the entire enemy team to cause confusion, I rarely see people using it for defensive or offensive purposes.

Against hellfire rockets, they disrupt lock-ons, effectively allowing a grenadier or rocketeer to sit at range without worrying about long range homing rockets.

For quicker mechs, placing it near the front lines of your team allows it to block line of sight, effectively giving the illusion of cover for your team.

The wall item works this way as well, sans the lock on disruption.

Great fun for setting up ambush too when defending.

Scrambler + hologram and you can really confuse people cqc. Dodge around their LOS and drop a hologram, watch as they waste a secondary or even two if they are really confused. Then laugh as you kill them and laugh some more as you have just completely embarrassed said player.

Some of the most fun I have had was just trying to trick people with holograms. Wish they would last longer or have more charges than other items.

Thanks for the tips ... I stopped using the hologram since the TTK reduction and got Det instead, but I'll definitely try to put it on some of my mechs.

When someone's chasing you, it is so very satisfying to duck behind a a corner, drop a holo, then circle around and shoot them in the back when they open up on it.

Holograms have saved my Rocketeer that way too many times xD.

Seriously_ Is this for real_ I have not tested it, so this is a serious question.

A pilot can lock Hellfire's to holograms. It's just like as if another mech was standing there. They don't actively prevent lock-ons or anything like that. They just get in the way.

It only ever affects me if a pilot sits his mech right beside or inside a hologram. I only see that happen in AA fights.

If you played rocketeer a bit you would know this already. I used to main it. Oh them holograms... personally i find em easy to spot in higher tier rooms because noone stupid enough not to move.
