I agree and posted about this before too.
It is very annoying to have weps rendered client side :(

So hard to compensate when it fires, but isn't really firing.

Also annoying is the weapons that don't fire.

I heard rumors that the ADH team is actually working under a secret military contract to develop giant robots, and that Hawken is nothing more than a virtual testing ground and the players as free labor before they start full scale production.

I mentioned this a while ago. I prefer seeing the delay. It helps me adjust and provides better visual feedback.
definitely - seeing the delay lets you account for it. now it just looks like you hit but you miss. brilliant.

I believe you are referring to the tracer FX_ Those play client side now.

https://community.pl...te-patch-notes/

"When firing your own trace weapons, the tracer FX will play instantly on clients instead of waiting to be triggered by server."

One of the most mind-boggling changes. I completely don't understand why they did this.
I can understand why they did it, but I'd prefer if they hadn't. I like seeing where my shots actually went, not where they would have gone in a perfect, 0-ping world.
why do you think they did it_ Why make it harder to aim in an FPS_

I would guess that part of the reason was to reduce apparent lag, and make the game seem more responsive.
Your friendly otter-fox hybrid abomination about town.

To pronounce my name correctly, just pretend the 't' isn't there. You can also think of it as "Freno - [sodacan opening sound]"

These missed hit registrations are very frustrating and the frustration gets worse after being repeatedly robbed of kills and dieing when you should've been the victor. It seems some servers suffer more than others. There's a Siege server, 2700 something I think, I've noticed it seems to be worse than others. Some servers will crash after a really bad round, too, and kick everyone out.

Missed shots that should've hit = frustration
Dodging and not moving (sticky floors/walls) = frustration
Tech coming in and repping the guy in a fight you almost one robbing you a kill = frustration

The missed shots that should've hit part has multiple levels though. There's 1 on 1 fights that get screwed up because of it. There's people that escape with 1hp and succeed thanks to that last shot as they flee not registering. Etc...

If this was the reason then it was a very poor decision. Obvious lag we can deal with. Hidden lag is worse, since it's still there, plus harder to compensate for. Can we please have this reverted devs_

This thread may help flesh out the underlying problems currently being experienced by Hawken players:

It's a poll with feedback about the rendering issues. Make your vote count!
