when i started the launcher, meta error, then i tried again and it started downloading again...

It just wroks
Use it untill the launcher bug is fixed..

Instead of starting game from Launcher, start it from here "C:HawkenInstalledHawkenFilesBinariesWin32 and open " HawkenGame-Win32-Shipping" Only will get you in-Game, as the servers are down, you won't be able to play and for that you have to wait 7 hours more.

sooooo how does this fix the problem people have with downloading the game and getting the metafile error_ this does absolutely nothing to fix that. c'mon, son.

Just try again in a bit, you get that when you can't connect to the sever, and guess what thousands of people are all trying to do at once atm_

yeah many including me are getting this error and we dont have the game downloaded ( of course it will be ok eventually , its either on heavy traffic or servers are updating their files or its down for their own reasons )

They are probably launching a new build as we speak which is why nobody can download off their servers. Don't freak out.

This isn't a fix, mate. This is just putting the game in "offline" mode...

But what you have failed to understand is, a lot of people who are getting this error are getting it before they are able to download the ~1.3GB of the game onto their computer so they can use the offline launcher. So, you're not fixing the solution. This is what I told you.
