A Quick Update for Everyone: 07/14/14

A happy July to you and we hope it's treating you well so far! We're doing fairly well here on our end, still working away and while we aren't treating this as a full Development Update we did want to keep you in the loop on the latest.
Everyone is waiting for news on what's coming for HAWKEN but we still aren't in a position to discuss the details just yet. There will probably be some questions relating to why we aren't just mentioning what people are working on but I assure you we aren't in a place to discuss any information publicly. We know everyone is waiting for updates on the bigger picture, so it's going to take just a little while longer before there is information to share with everyone. It'll more than likely be in the next full Development Update but it's just not something possible to promise at this time.
As mentioned, we just wanted to keep everyone in the loop even if there was nothing solid to announce. We thank you for checking in and we'll see you online!

Thanks Hughes. I get the feeling you guys are up to something big. Make sure not to overwork yourselves and turn those super ultra hughes updates into smaller bytes. Oh god, the puns I've made, the puns I've had.

Actually Hughes did tell us stuff. He's acknowledging that there really is much to discuss at the time but letting us know that we're not forgotten and the forums aren't being ignored. He's also telling us things are coming for Hawken and we'll probably hear about it in the next big development update which should happen sooner rather than later. And finally Hughes is letting us know that the back end work is still being done and not complete yet but it is nearing completion.
Taking the time to actually read something and not just look for the "what's new!" aspect of a post goes a long ways.

Chances are Hawken won't change drastically. The development team has stated before the current build of Hawken is what they want to use moving forward and from a gameplay standpoint we're not going to see a massive overhaul like we did going into Ascension. Where before we went a long time without any major updates because Ascension was being built this time around it has more to do with the back end work that is being done which is probably keeping the team from actually implementing anything.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a new map, mech, and perhaps a game mode (Siege 2.0_) be what the team comes back with once this back end work has been completed.

It will work well, like it did for Bloodline Champions over there (you may notice the last news was from one year ago.)
I don't see what could refrain them from sharing details other than negotiating a contract with another company.

Really fat nasty armor
Capless turning
Hotter'n hell superglue Hellfires
A Vampire Tech that even Dracula would run giggling and screaming from.
A Class-A G2 mech that would even make a Scout's butt pucker up
Realistic adjustments to the Grind, and Pricing
Mystically perfect team auto-balancing
Ball caps, T shirts, Leggo toys, HWK bling
Massive amounts of free MC just for being Here.
Actually documenting AJK being wrong
Did I miss anything_
Heh. Christmas in July, anyone_
Uh Oh. I just realized: this sounds a lot like pre-Ascension. Imma gonna get flammed......
