Could be a heat issue, try installing something like speedfan to keep an eye on it.

Could be a dying/overheating powersupply, swap it out with another one.
(most likely if this is a pre-built retail system)

I have the same CPU! :D

I think it happens most often when I turn on the AC

Also my computer makes a loud high pitched fast ticking sounds.

That high pitch sound is probably "coil whine". It is a phenomenon, but usually can be fixed when you don't output more frames than your monitor's refresh rate. However, it could be also caused by a bad PSU.

Hmm, at this point, it probably is the PSU. Usually, abrupt system instability is caused by what's feeding the power into your computer, especially for newer systems.

You can remove the side door of your computer case and use it normally.  I advise you to do this and try to find where the noise is coming from.  Maybe it's from the power supply, like said before, or maybe it's from the hard drive.

Example of hard drive clicking :

The video is HD, so the sound will be easy to see and not too pixelated.

It sounds like a bad PSU if nothing is overheating, but if the game reliably crashes when you turn the AC on (assuming the AC is a window unit on the same circuit that your computer is), you might just be pulling too many watts for the room circuit when your GPU is under load. You could try running Furmark, turning all of the lights you usually use and whatever else that draws a significant amount of current on, and then running the AC to see if you can get consistent errors or crashes. It's probably not what's causing your instability, but since it's easy to check for and you mentioned the AC affecting the game then it's worth a try.

Check your line voltage at the outlet with a fluke multimeter.  I bet its dropping when the AC is on.  I don't know if you are in America and using 110 or in some other country thats using 220.  But it sounds like the power supply is undervoltage on the input.  Might need to move one or the other onto another circuit if possible.  Better call an electrician.
