Hey pilots,

Yes, this is another one of those "help me choose" threads, but because I really am stuck.
I wouldn't ask if the struggle to get enough HC wasn't so intense.

Let me start off by saying I've done all the research I can, from watching youtube reviews, scrolling through the forums and asking other players in chat. However I'm finding alot of the relevant information on youtube+forums is older, meaning pre-April update so I'm not sure how valid it is.

I've had my eye on a few mechs for a while, and my play style varies depending on my mood.

Sometimes I like to get up in people's faces and be more aggressive, sometimes I like to hang back and do damage without being on the front lines, sometimes I like to flank, strike for the kill then get out fast.

Which of the following 3 will be the most rewarding/satisfying to play_
(I added the G2 assault because I've read lots of people saying its enjoyable to play, but I've read other, older postings saying its a waste of HC)

Scout
Sharpshooter
G2 Assault

If it helps, I seem to do best with my infiltrator.

Thanks for the help,

Happy hunting!

-Alpha

Scout is supposed to be a lot of fun, if you like cornerplay.

Sharpie isn't bad, but based on what you've told us about your playstyle, I don't think you'll like it.

G2 Assault is pretty expensive for a novelty mech.

Have you considered Hawken's second stealth mech, the Predator_ It's not the easiest mech to pilot, but it can be very rewarding. It could fit your playstyle, once you learn how to properly use it.

Yeah, but dude, we are at 1750. As much as we would like to be Professional Yolodrivers like you [Meraple] and Lightangel112, we're not there yet. It's something to aspire to, sure, but there's a lot of ground to cover.

Sorry I should have mentioned, I do pilot my predator once in a while depending on the map and what my team is running

Should have also mentioned my current mechs:

Raider, Berserker, Infiltrator, Predator, Reaper, Assault

The scout really appeals to me because of it's speed and burst damage potential, but I never capitalized on test driving it when it was available before :(

Hey Alpha! Didn't know you were on the forums. I would suggest Scout. I think you could do pretty well with it. Especially with the HEAT Cannon, where you can poke at folks from a relatively safe distance. Just my two cents though.

Scout.

You should transition well from the Infiltrator, and they share the Heat Cannon, though I would suggest staying with the Flak on the scout. Next I'd say is Assault G2 which, if you ever go "all in" as an Infiltrator, will suit you well though its proper team role is suppression.

The Sharpshooter is a sniper and will be the hardest to adjust to. Quick-scoping and gunning on the move are highly important.

Thanks for the replies everybody!

I went ahead and got the scout, and I'm pretty amazed at the stopping power this little guy has.
Catch an assault off guard and it's an easy kill :)

Noticed you don't have any C class mechs yet. I'm going to suggest the Grenadier or Vanguard as options too (after you've completed work with your new Scout). Depending on the weapon load out you choose, you can either hang back and provide supporting/covering fire (Rev-GL, SMC) or get right up someone's robutt (Vulcan, Mini Flak). Both are also fine for flanking but the getting out fast part might be a little tougher for the Grenadier; but that's why it has an awesome artillery shots ability. No need to retreat if everyone is dead from explosions!
