i got this problem when i tried to launch the game from Steam, probably you have to close some programs...

I've downloaded from playhawken.com, installed ok. Run the launcher and get the "Unable to login" message.

Fix! I added the Hawken launcher to the windows firewall and then "Run as Administrator." Works for me now. Give it a try.

Added Hawken to Comodo Firewall trusted applications; ran as admin and still unable to login.

I have exact same issue, but sometimes it says my password is incorrect as well but I know its fine because im here logged in now making this post!

It was added to my trusted firewall by default, tried running as admin and got the same error.
This happened to me during the entire period of Alpha 2 and never actually played the
bloody thing.

I'm also getting the "Login Failed: Wrong Password Maybe_" dialog box. I have verified I'm using the same password as the one I used to login to this site.

I had the same issue, and the firewall / run as admin trick did not work for me.  I ended up changing my password to not include any special characters and was allowed in.  The previous password (randomly generated by keepass) contained the following special characters:

% "  (percent, doublequote)

I'm guessing the website and application have different rules on what characters are allowed.  This should be standardized.

This worked for me. Downloading right now. We'll see if I can play.

Confirmed.  I had an '@' in my original password.  Changing the password allowed me to log in.
