We're also in the process of figuring out who's gonna be around this season thanks to new school/work schedules and whatnot.  If we have everyone I think we do, we'll be even stronger this season :)

People are playing up how good Omni is, and like Jeff said it's discouraging to watch people wanting to divide the teams up based on their fear of playing them.  When we were scrimming often with them before TPG started, we won many times, even though they beat us probably 3-4 times for every win of ours.  These guys are great scrim partners, so message Nept and schedule some practice matches with them.  If we can beat them, so can you!

Please keep in mind that in the most likely scenario there will only be one league, and in that case you'll only have 3-4 matches against teams that belong in "A-league" and the rest will (hopefully) be much more even.

Nothing against Xacius but I don't think he would add anything to Omni's A-team at this point.  They currently have Nept, Leonhardt, hestoned, Omnistone, iaredave, Climatic, and 7rip, so unless someone is leaving or he's going to be on a B-team, it seems like kind of a waste to have someone sit on the sideline all the time.

Even so, that's just one match!  If your afraid of a single uphill battle then why even bother playing in a competitive league_

I explained it already, that I will even play 1v6 against whoever and never back off. But you clearly should have noticed that omni's strength is a major factor in the players wanting to make a B league or even join it.

When I'll be inviting people to join TPG, I don't want to lie to them telling them "it's only players like me ... 2100- ...".

After all, all I wanted is siege and I didn't get it, that the only expectation I set for this season and it didn't happen, so anything else won't matter to me.

Not all teams are like yours either.

He's trying to be positive and motivate people. No need to be such a downer. Why not just play with everyone together and just ignore the loss when you are defeated by the best team_ You can still compare yourself to your peers when if you play with people out of your league.

So what happens once a relatively strong B-team gets formed_ Are people going to want a C-league to avoid the possibility of losing in the B-league_

The point of a competitive league is to get together, practice, and become a team that can beat the competition. If you can't/aren't willing to put in the time and effort to be the best, then why bother participating_

Before anyone goes off on the "I've got a life so I can't play four hours a day like you losers" rant, keep in mind that it's completely irrelevant and the ONLY purpose of a competitive league is to end up with someone on top.

This analysis is correct.  Xacius is a very strong player, but does not represent an upgrade for any particular position on our team.  Omniscient recruits members when they meet certain standards, and when they mesh well with existing members.  We are a close-knit group who moves together from game to game, and Season 2 of TPG will see several of our members switch focus from Hawken to other games.

On one level, we recruited Xacius because he deserved to be recruited.  On another level, his presence allows us more flexibility in member attendance/focus so that we can continue to play Hawken.  And on a third level, by playing alongside our members in a game he knows well, he'll learn the coordination/tactical requirements that we expect from our players.

That being said, we'll be having Xacius focusing more on twitch shooters than on Hawken.  More for him to learn there.

Then that team gets to join the A league, slowly making the A league bigger and more competitive. At the very least that strong B team would go into the double digits for a TDM match in an A league :0

Speaking from the Potato Bracket (1750+), I can definitely say there is a pretty huge intimidation factor. In Team Fortress 2, I've actually been doing UGC competitive for a while. I'm somewhere in the Silver division, so not the best but still good. That being said, I've gone toe-to-toe with Platinum teams, and it didn't phase me. I have no issue fighting someone who is clearly outside my skill range. The difference is, it'll be one team for just a couple games, and then I never have to see them again. In TPG, it seems like it'd be mostly higher-tier teams, and a few scrubber teams. This... does not sound fun to me. I'm not opposed to an uphill battle, I just don't want to fight a lost war.

I'm sorry but he's going over the limits with that. I could accept that from you, or anyone who played in the TPG and knows what's going on, but not someone who's trying to make his way into it but already disrespecting a team that's been there the last year.

Me and my teammates have some big guts, while a lot of teams broke, we stayed and we'll be staying, regardless of what happens. I did not like how things went last year, I did not like how I keep asking my teammates to quit their family lives, the much needed rest after a day of work to come and play the TPg matches, and get nothing but frustration and disappointment. I will repeat it again, the reason why I don't want to be matched up against legendary teams with no skill cap is because I don't want my teammates to be frustrate like last year, to the point it feels neither us nor others are thrilled about scrims or TPG matches, and also for other players who really deserve to taste organized HAWKEN but who will back off pretty soon once things turn out to be fishy.

I'm not a selfish person, and I'm not a downer. I'm a good player and you all know it, I don't fear going against any of you with my fuzzy bunny stupid ping when I wake up at 3 AM with my eyes barely open.

to get your steam ID you can use THIS or THIS

Heads up, the 2nd ID grabber thing for steam didn't work for me, idk if this is universally the case. The first link works fine.

Team created! Energized Mechs Consuming Caffeine, or E=mc2. Currently there aren't any players listed, as I'm waiting to hear back from three of my friends. I will be looking for at least two more pilots, so if you are interested let me know! I'm 1650 - 1800 mmr range (real account vs. drunk smurf (oddly enough the drunk account is the higher LOL)), and my friends should they join are in the 1900 - 2000 range. I like to think I'm a better team player than individual pilot, and I'm looking to have fun and improve my play this season. If any of that sound good to you than let me know! I'm not picky!

To be fair, I can see where he's coming from. When you really invest yourself into something, and have it thrown in your face by guys that have no business being in the same ring as you, it really hurts. It's even worse when you get others to put forth the same investment, only to have it crushed.
