Hi folks, I have a quick glance at Jason Hughes' twitter feed once in a while just to see what he's up to and he posted a link to a book that is to be released in November. If you are interested in the HAWKEN concept and lore then you may have come across the work of Darren Quatch before. He was one of the concept artists working with Khang Le to bring HAWKEN to life.

Quote

In early 2013, I had a conversation with my friends, John Park and Khang Le, about our views on the importance of drawing and more specifically, the importance of design sketching. We felt having this skill was an integral part of being a designer working in the entertainment industry. Design sketching can be a quick and gestural way to describe an idea. This book contains a collection of mechanical design sketches done over a few months. What initially started as a discussion with friends and sketching eventually led to this collection which I hope to share with you. We have decided to keep a faithful reproduction of the original Cottonwood sketchbook layouts. Besides providing that initial spark of inspiration, I feel the ideas in this book can serve as a springboard for further exploration or development. I hope you enjoy looking through these sketches as much as I enjoyed putting this collection together. - Darren

The book is released on the 15th November 2014 and you can find it here.

The book is titled: Inkworks Darren Quatch Sketchbook Vol. 01

I do know that his work has featured many times on this forum over the past few years but you may not have realized who the artist was, especially if you are new to the game.

WOW! I'm a HUGE lore fan in the games I play like wow and diablo, in fact I think the lore books and quests helped me get my reading comprehension and vocabulary to the point it is now. Plus that book is almost a week from my birthday! Thanks man. I'll be sure to buy this.
