TRAINING THURSDAYS!get gud skrubs


After seeing the topic of training coming up on the forums lately, I would like to make public an event that has been going on in TAW for a while now. Every Thursday we have an optional practice in which we examine a particular aspect of the game. Everything from mechs and maps to weapons and tactics. My vision for this is simple. Every week it will be announced what the training will be (see below). I will try to get a high profile member of the community who posses great insight on the particular topic to join me in leading the training. The actual training will consist of drills / minigames to introduce players to the topic at hand and then transition into full fledged games where that week's topic will be emphasized. (I am attempting to give a broad overview. There will be some variation based on topic and attendance.)

Expect lots of discussion and deliberation, and come with and open mind. No one player is truly a expert on everything, and it is my belief that anyone can have something valuable to bring to the table, regardless of mmr or time spent in game. Keeping those things In mind, I encourage anyone who is interested in the current week's topic to attend.

I wish I could join TAW, but there is no way my schedule would allow it. What with school and work rolling at the same time, time is rapidly becoming a precious commodity. :/

Nice,i like this move pilots.Every now and then i am trying to give some tips to freshmen,but honestly only of them listen..
Btw while i was asked checking TAW,i have the same problem with SatelliteJack,my schedule dont allow me to know the hours i have to play..

I doubt it unless there's a significant interest from the forums and even then it'd be difficult.

Sounds like a good Idea Merl .  Hopefully I wil beable to attend most if not all these, learn what I can, and impart other knowledge that I might have.

I think the EU players would very much appretiate that this would be a multy-region initiative (kind of like War Wednesdays and Ultra-Violent Wednesdays). Currently I'm not too bad on free time, so if the organizing parties ever get to planning or execution I don't mind being part of that / helping out.

We can't know if there is interest or not unless we try!

I'm serious about hellfires.  They are easy to use but hard to master.  Positioning is really important.  I for one only know the basics but I enjoy the bruiser a lot so learning the expert stuff would be awesome.

There are also techniques to use when you fight against them like dodge timing.
