Awesome. Looks like you all had a solid event. Will update the listings when i get home... whenever that is.

Question: will you be just sticking to this thread ala War Wednesdays_ Would just give a decent point of reference for non-forum types.

Do you mean whether I will make topics on the Steam forums and /r/Hawken and such_ Yea sure, I'll get right on that. The more people know it's happening the better.

Ah, actually I meant like using this thread for future announcements and the like.

Well, for anything related to Training 2.0, of course I'll keep this thread up to date and announce teachers and such. Also posting vids and maybe training reports like the one for 18/10.

I would however like people's opinion on announcements like 'Training starts in 1h' and the like (like I try to do with the EU-GUV event). Is it too much or annoying_

Gets people HYPED.

Also, updated listings.

Looking forward to it!
... and thinking about actually getting a headset so I don't annoy everyone with strange sounds from my mic. ^_^

Honestly I think just simple earbuds are enough, seeing as the mic quality that you have now isn't that bad, it's just that the speaker cause an echo. I'm sure you can ask a friend for some, seeing as you can get them for free with electronics. Won't last for more than half a year, but hey, it's a free solution.

Of course a headset is worth buying, especially if you wanna start playing on TS often. It's a luxury of life thing. Buy a cheap (or expensive ;) ) headset now and you'll have no problem in the foreseeable future.

Anyway, cya at the Wednesday/Saturday events :). I think it's gonna be an interesting lesson :).

(Also nice signature :D )

Of course players from any timezone can join. The ping would only be a problem if we test out the theory after the lesson, but for most intents and purposes you'll be fine.

Please do join us, but do keep timezones in mind. I'll include a link and a countdown for your convenience.

To check timezones I use this website:  http://www.worldtimebuddy.com/

You do need to be on TS to follow the lesson, but you'll only need a working mic if you want to ask questions and have a conversation. It's waaaay easier and faster to use a mic than tying everything out.

Well, you can still attend and ask any questions you have. We're going to record the training session, so when you do have a pred you'll be able to re-watch the lesson and get started.

Well, the thing about lessons are that they are pretty specialized, so not every lesson will attract everybody. If there is no teacher for november 1st it'll be general training again, maybe some map navigation and exploration.

This Saturday, we'll cover several topics:

Simple mind games (learn how players commonly move, then learning to abuse that knowledge), basic dueling tactics (if you say the Breacher is UP, you're doing it wrong!), and general familiarity with how the mech operates (becoming familiar with fuel regen, armor amounts, and DPS races).

If you don't have a Pred, I would advise you to get one. If you can't, that's fine, but you'll get the most out of the lesson if you have one.

I would also advise everyone to equip air compressor, advanced reconstructor, shields Mk. 2, and rep orb Mk. 2. Of course, that's not the only viable Predator loadout. It is, however, my personal favorite. At the very least, equip AC and at least one shield.

...so, why didn't you give me these tips when you were training me_  Instead, that session was reduced to us beating you up (Australia, for the win ).

Could you by any chance mean... Ultra-Violent things_ cross-promo!

By any case, don't forget that Saturday is Training day, so tomorrow I expect the finest of young recruits to be there on the double!

There will be Predzels.
